The Dayara Bugyal Trek is a beautiful Himalayan meadow adventure through the scenic landscapes of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Known for its vast rolling alpine meadows, dense oak and rhododendron forests and magnificent Himalayan panoramas, Dayara Bugyal offers an ideal introduction to high-altitude trekking without the extreme demands of a technical expedition.
The journey begins at the picturesque village of Barsu, from where the trail gradually climbs through forests towards Barnala and the spectacular open meadows of Dayara Bugyal. As you gain altitude, the forest gives way to expansive grasslands surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks.
A major highlight is the ascent to Bakaria Top at approximately 3,658 m / 12,000 ft, the highest point of the trek. From here, trekkers are rewarded with panoramic mountain views and an extraordinary sense of wilderness. The route then continues through the vast meadows and forested trails towards Pichkiya, before descending back to Barsu.
