Overview
The Everest Base Camp Trek is an iconic Himalayan adventure through the legendary Khumbu Region of Nepal, taking you deep into the heart of Sherpa country and beneath some of the world’s highest and most spectacular mountains. This 17-day expedition combines high-altitude trekking, rich Sherpa culture, ancient monasteries, dramatic glacial landscapes and unforgettable views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam.
The journey begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a gradual ascent through traditional Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, pine and rhododendron forests and the spectacular landscapes of Sagarmatha National Park. The carefully placed acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche allow trekkers to adapt progressively to the increasing altitude.
As the trail climbs above the tree line, the landscape transforms into a rugged world of alpine valleys, glacial moraines and snow-covered peaks. The adventure reaches its climax with the ascent to Kala Patthar at approximately 5,545 m / 18,192 ft, offering extraordinary panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan giants, followed by the trek to the legendary Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m beside the Khumbu Glacier.
The return journey descends through beautiful mountain valleys, monasteries and Sherpa villages before reaching Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu.
