The Corbett, Pangot & Sattal Birding Tour is a carefully designed 7-day birdwatching and wildlife journey through the forests, foothills and Himalayan lakes of Uttarakhand. Combining the rich wildlife habitat of Jim Corbett National Park with the renowned birding landscapes of Pangot and Sattal, this expedition offers an exceptional variety of ecosystems and birdlife in one seamless itinerary.

The journey begins in the foothills of Corbett, where early-morning safari drives provide opportunities to observe a spectacular range of Himalayan and sub-Himalayan birds alongside iconic wildlife. From Corbett, the route climbs into the Kumaon Himalayas towards Pangot, a celebrated birding destination surrounded by oak and rhododendron forests. Here, dedicated birding walks provide opportunities to search for pheasants, woodpeckers, flycatchers, laughing thrushes and other Himalayan species.

The final stage takes you to the tranquil lake region of Sattal, where forest, wetland and lakeside habitats attract resident and migratory birds. With opportunities for bird photography, butterfly observation and nature walks, Sattal provides a peaceful conclusion to the expedition.

Itinerary

Day 01 :
Delhi → Corbett National Park (260 km, 6–7 hrs drive)

Scenic drive to Jim Corbett National Park through the foothills of Uttarakhand. Evening nature walk & birding around the resort area.

Day 02 :
Corbett National Park Safari & Birding

Early morning jeep safari in Corbett Tiger Reserve for birdwatching & wildlife sightings including hornbills, kingfishers, eagles and possible tiger sightings. Evening riverside birding session.

Day 03 :
Corbett → Pangot (150 km, 5–6 hrs drive)

Drive through Nainital hills to Pangot, a famous Himalayan birding destination. Evening forest birding walk around oak & rhododendron forests.

Day 04 :
Pangot Birding Exploration (4–6 km walk, 5–6 hrs)

Full day birdwatching excursion for Himalayan species including Cheer Pheasant, Khalij Pheasant, woodpeckers, flycatchers and Himalayan griffons.

Day 05 :
Pangot → Sattal (70 km, 3–4 hrs drive)

Scenic drive to the beautiful lake region of Sattal. Evening bird photography & lakeside nature walk.

Day 06 :
Sattal Birding & Nature Walks (3–5 km walk, 5 hrs)

Explore forests and wetlands around Sattal for barbets, parakeets, laughing thrushes, owls and migratory birds. Optional butterfly & macro photography session.

Day 07 :
Sattal → Delhi (320 km, 7–8 hrs drive)

Return drive to Delhi marking the end of the Himalayan birding expedition.
